First democratic parliamentary election
In April 1920 the first election was held in Slovakia, according to the right to a general and equal election. The democratic system was maintained throughout the existence of Czechoslovakia. Slovakia had to learn rules that had not been observed by the previous Hungarian system. Slovak policy was not too strong during the period of the formation of the Czechoslovak state, but parties and streams were gradually established that clearly demonstrated the ideas and demands of Slovakia. The problem of Slovak self-government became the core issue.
