First proposal for Slovak autonomy

The proposal for the solution of the questionable position of Slovakia in the new country as an autonomous administration was submitted to the Czechoslovak parliament for the first time. Slovak representatives had unsuccessfully submitted the requirement for more autonomous control of Slovak affairs in the subsequent period. Then two concepts clashed during the interwar history of Czechoslovakia:Slovak autonomists based their ideas on a separate Slovak nation with specific demands, while decisive governmental parties used the idea of a uniform Czechoslovak nation as the base of a centralised state.
