24 August 1944 – 9 May 1945. Romania’s participation in the anti-Nazi war, alongside the Allied Coalition.
After the events of 23 August 1944, Romania participated in the war alongside the Allied Forces until the end of hostilities in Europe. The military and financial-economic contribution of Romania was enormous, placing the country in a high rank among the Allied Coalition. In spite of this, during the Paris Peace Conference, Romania did not receive the status of a co-belligerent country, as Italy did. The peace decisions were based on the diverging interests of the Allied Powers concerning Romania.
