Establishment of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Arts

The establishment of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Arts – the leading scientific institution, the growth of Slovak universities and Slovak artistic output all documented the development of Slovak scientific and cultural life even under war conditions. The independence of Slovakia had brought new guaranties for the development of domestic culture and the policy and propaganda of that time had yet to take control of cultural life.
