Consolidation of the Great Union. The Constitution and the internal legislation
Each uniting province had its own laws, its own political and administrative organisation. Between 1919 and 1925 a series of measures were adopted by which the state’s legislation and institutions were harmonised: in 1920 – the Law for Monetary Unification; in 1921 – financial and land reforms; in 1923 – the Constitution of Greater Romania (which established direct, secret and compulsory voting – for men over twenty-one years of age); in 1924 – reforms in education and justice; in 1925 – reforms in administration.
