Romania’s collective alliances – The Little Entente and the Balkan Pact.

Confronted with the revisionist policy of an important number of its neighbours (Hungary, Bulgaria, the Soviet Union), Romania joined the efforts of other states in the region interested in building defensive alliances aimed at safeguarding treaties and preserving the territorial status quo. Thus in 1921 Romania participated in the creation of the Little Entente, together with Czechoslovakia and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and in 1934 made up the Balkan Pact, together with Yugoslavia, Greece and Turkey.
