Organised by the ENRS as part of the information campaign “World War Second – 80 Years After”, and co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the competition invited educators, artists, and storytellers of all ages to reflect on the legacy of the Second World War through personal and intergenerational narratives.

We are delighted to share the results of the Lesson Scenario category of the international competition “Grandparents. Grand Stories”—a project celebrating the power of memory, family, and history across generations.

Honoured for creating a universal and multidisciplinary lesson plan that invites pupils to explore and share their personal histories in the classroom, offering a dynamic, inclusive, and reflective learning experience.

Honourable Mentions

In recognition of the high quality and originality of the submissions, the jury awarded Honourable Mentions to:

  • Vesna Kostić – for her focus on using personal accounts in historical research.
  • Justyna Pawlaczyk – for using family stories from wartime to address present-day challenges.
  • Anna Chomiak – for her innovative use of an everyday object to present a historical narrative.

All submitted entries will soon be made available in a dedicated online repository, and the lesson scenarios will be published on the Hi-Story Lessons platform, providing valuable educational resources for teachers and learners.
