On Saturday, 4 October 2025, Warsaw and the surrounding region will witness a truly unique event. “Warsaw Passed Through Here” is more than a performance – it’s an immersive artistic journey tracing the symbolic route taken 81 years ago by over 650,000 Varsovians expelled during and after the Warsaw Uprising.

A Living History Experience

This powerful performance is the culmination of Sound in the Silence, an international educational programme that combines history, art and personal reflection. Over the course of an intensive week in Pruszków, secondary school students from Cyprus, Spain, Poland and Romania delved deep into the history of Dulag 121 – the transit camp where residents of Warsaw were sent following their expulsion.

Their research, emotions and discoveries have been transformed into an original, on-site performance blending theatre, rap, choreography and text. Audiences will be guided along the path from Warsaw Główna Station to the Dulag 121 Museum, walking in the footsteps of those forcibly displaced eight decades ago.

International Artists Behind the Scenes

The project is led by an acclaimed team of international artists: Dan Wolf, hip-hop creator from the USA; Kat Rampackova, choreographer from Slovakia; and Sean Palmer, musician and performer from the UK. Together, they helped participants shape a moving artistic response to one of the most painful chapters in European history.

A Proven Concept with a Powerful Legacy

Since 2011, the Sound in the Silence project has been taking young people to sites marked by the dramatic events of the 20th century – from Neuengamme and Auschwitz-Birkenau to Kaunas and Jasenovac. At each site, the programme inspires participants to connect emotionally with history and to create art that resonates with today’s audiences.

This year’s edition is organised by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) in cooperation with the Dulag 121 Museum in Pruszków.
